vista: an error occurred while internet connection sharing was being enabled
Problem: You receive the above message from Vista whenever you try to enable ICS on a network adaptor.
Solution: This worked for me: I first set manually the ip number : 192.168.0.1 on my SECOND adaptor. Mask 255.255.255.0
When I say second adaptor I mean the one through which other computers will connect and not the primary one that receives the internet.
I gave the settings by opening control panel> Network and sharing center then on the left sidepane click on MANAGE NETWORK CONNECTIONS, then right click on the connection> properties> select TCP/IP 4 and then click on properties
