Its been several months now I have used Firefox 3 Beta on Ubuntu 8.04. On my windows PC I have Firefox 2.x.
With the latest version now being official I installed Firefox 3 in windows along side version 2.x just incase.
In other words, I choose the custom install option when installing Firefox 3 and installed it into a separate directory on my Windows PC so that it would not overwrite version 2.x . That way I could compare side by side the results , differences and speed. My main concern are the security vulnerabilities and the consumption of memory that Firefox has. Other than that everything else about Firefox is superior to other browsers I have tried in the past.
Below is a walkthrough reviewing my first experience with
Firefox 3 Final release.
This is an unbiased look at Firefox, although I must say overall Firefox still is my browser of choice.

If you are a long-time Windows XP user, you have to wonder when the sales for this Microsoft operating software will cease to be sold. The last we heard was that Windows XP will stop selling by June but apparently thanks to the Netbook, there seems to be an extension of sorts. This desktop PC from Microsoft is set to come out this August and if that should happen, how can Microsoft stop production if they are offering a desktop PC that runs only with Windows XP?
Everything is geared towards pushing all Microsoft users to shift to their new OS, the Microsoft Vista. If you look at it, this new installment is applicable only to new computers with higher specs. For old PC users, you will notice that the preference is still the Windows XP series since other than using up lesser resources, they cannot afford to upgrade to the new PCs in the market today and just because Microsoft say so, it does not follow that they should buy new hardware as well.
Add to the fact that people will make do with what they have. They still have their original CDs (assuming they are licensed) and with that, you have to understand that shifting to the new OS may not be among their priorities. Microsoft may have Netbooks but apparently closing down the Windows XP will have to wait. We just have to look at the past on how they phased out Windows 95 and Windows 98. Evidently, Windows XP will be among that group.

For some, the larger the storage, the better it is for them. This means more files and the luxury of storing large files like audio and video files can be accommodated. One thing that people have noticed these days is that the usual 40 to 160 gigabyte hard disks don’t last long. Attribute this to the fact that people have gone crazy placing or downloading videos into their computer, not wanting to burn them for fear that they may be damaged once they are transferred to the usual optical drives.
With that said, Verbatim has introduced a 640 gigabyte hard disk into the market. Wow! That is times 4 of the last maximum hard disk of 160 gigabyte and it makes you wonder on what to put in it. Imagine the number of videos you can place there. Indeed it does sound like a good development but do remember, maintenance may be an issue later on.
One thing about large storage is that if you don’t take care of them, they may crash and leave you weeping in tears with all the files you have in them. 160 gigabyte hard disks are hard enough so what the more if you use this 640 gigabyte hard disk? It will take longer to defragment (assuming you are the type who optimizes hard disk with disk defragmenter), and perhaps be harder to backup due to the large size.
With that said, is it good or bad? Depending on your use, you just have to consider if it is indeed still feasible to purchase.

You can get the latest weather (Maximum and Minimum temperatures per Sol or Martian Solar Day) on Mars from the Phoenix Mars Lander delivered to your desktop from the Phoenix lander currently on Mars.

Download: Phoenix Mars Weather Gadget
The Phoenix Mars Lander is a Martian lander (not a rover like Mars Pathfinder) designed to look for evidence of water or ice under the surface of Mars. Instead of roaming around the surface of Mars looking for water evidence - the Phoenix lander will dig below the surface to look for water or ice. Matter a fact, today the Phoenix Mission Team announced they may have found ice - aka frozen water! That's awesome.
The Phoenix Mars Weather Gadget is updated regularly as soon as the weather data is downloaded* from the Phoenix Mars Lander.
*In some cases due to technical reasons, weather data may not be available on a daily basis. For example: I believe today is Sol 25 but the Phoenix Mars Weather Gadget is reporting weather data from Sol 22.
You can get the latest on the Phoenix Mars Mission from their website here or the NASA website here. You can follow them on Twitter as well.
