Stfngdvw Toolbar Removal Instructions

Stfngdvw Toolbar, or simply known as Stfngdvw, is just another new variant of the notorious zlob clone toolbar. Stfngdvw Toolbar usually gets installed onto your PC without your notice, through Trojan, malware and virus (or you could get it by installing a fake video codec), then Stfngdvw Toolbar directly or indirectly promotes rogue antispyware products. Stfngdvw Toolbar will cause your computer to perform sluggishly, which makes you believe that your computer is affected by spyware so you would purchase the products that they promoted.

We would highly recommend you to remove Stfngdvw Toolbar manually, if possible. It’s free! Spending money on a removal tool is unwise, but that might be last option if you have any technical difficulties remove it manually. Lastly but most importantly, please back up your data before any modification to your system. Good luck!

vLite 1.1.5 Beta Out!

vLite is a tool for customizing the Windows Vista installation before actually installing it. Main features are:

Windows Vista from Microsoft takes a lot of resources, we all know that. vLite provides you with an easy removal of the unwanted components in order to make Vista run faster and to your liking. This tool doesn't use any kind of hacking, all files and registry entries are protected as they would be if you install the unedited version only with the changes you select. It configures the installation directly before the installation, meaning you'll have to remake the ISO and reinstall it. This method is much cleaner, not to mention easier and more logical than doing it after installation on every reinstall. Changelog:

Check your Windows Vista Activation Status

There is a utility in Windows Vista that will help you check the status of activation of your computer:

1.Click on start, type in CMD and press enter.
Windows Vista also equipped with a Software Licensing Manager (SLMgr) command-line based scripting tool that can help to check and verify the activation status or license status of installed Vista.

2. This can be done by typing "slmgr -xpr" in the command prompt opened.
This will show expiration date of current license if your vista copy is not activated and if it is activated then it would show the following.

There are more two command that would display license information.

slmgr.vbs -dli
slmgr.vbs -dlv
This would give you detailed information about your
license.

WebSlices now appearing in a Wikipedia article near you

Wikipedia WebSlices

Trust the open-source lovin’ contributors at Wikipedia to be early adopters of Microsoft web technologies. Beginning just a couple of days ago, Wikipedia user “Soum Yasch” began building Wiki templates to support the new content-subscription feature in Internet Explorer 8 called WebSlices which allow you to save and retrieve snippets of information from web pages without loading the whole page.

WebSlicesSo far the template is only implemented on the “Acid3″ Wiki. On this page it allows users to save a WebSlice of a table which records the web standards test result of different layout engines. As a result, you can then just bring up this table by clicking on the toolbar. As a built-in feature of WebSlices, if the content is ever updated, it will also be highlighted in the toolbar.

Obviously the implementation is a little rough at the moment - the toolbar pop-out is not styled at all and cuts off at the bottom, but it’s a great start to build more adoption for WebSlices and what better place to start than the world’s most popular encyclopedia.

Has anyone seen any implementations WebSlices beyond those originally demoed by eBay, Facebook and MSN?

Speking of which if you’re a Firefox user, you can get in on some of the WebSlices action too with the extension “Webchunks” which emulates the same function. “Anything you can do, I can do better.”

Announcing the Windows Search 4.0 Preview

To search for files on my PCs, I use Windows Search - Windows Vista's desktop search feature. I use Windows Search specifically to find photos that I've tagged in Windows Live Photo Gallery or important emails and Word documents. I also rely on saving specific searches that I can go back to later on. Searching and being able to find important files quickly on my PC is very important to me. And Windows Search allows me to "find my stuff" whenever I need to. Today we get to see a little "preview" of the next step for Windows Search. The Windows Search Team is making available Windows Search 4.0 Preview - a preview of the next version of desktop search for Windows.

Windows Search 4.0 introduces several improvements I'd like to call out making search even better in Windows Vista:

Final Version of Firefox 3 to be out by June

The final release of Firefox 3 is due in June, the company said Wednesday during a roundtable discussion with a small group of tech bloggers.

During the event, the key members of the Mozilla team, including CEO John Lilly, gave a quick overview of the product release schedule for the next version of the open source web browser.

According to VP of engineering Mike Schroepfer, the first Release Candidate will ship in early May. The RC1 stage is the point at which most of the larger extension developers re-work their code to be fully compatible with Firefox 3. So if your favorite extension isn't yet working, you'll only have to wait another month or so.

Right now, the latest Firefox 3 release is beta version 4. The Firefox 3 betas have about 700,000 users right now -- a small but dedicated chunk of Firefox's entire user base of 160 million people. The public release of Beta 5 will be out the first week of April (the nightly builds are available for testing now), and that will be the last beta release before Firefox enters the release candidate stage.
