Just aware of this after reading the
post from Shuva few days ago about. The
best free dictionary - WordWeb is not completely free. This is their free licensing agreement:
You may use the program free of charge indefinitely only if- You take at most 4 flights (2 return flights) in any 12 month period
- AND you do not own or regularly drive an SUV (sports utility vehicle).
If you do not qualify you must uninstall the program after the 30-day trial period or purchase WordWeb Pro.
The
full license is here. This is the most funniest licensing term that I have ever heard. I just told my friend today, he is shock too! Anyway, thanks for Shuva for bringing the awareness to us. But, the question still will you uninstall it if you don't meet the term?
I'm quite sure most of the Asia people, they will not follow the term. I"m not sure about the Western (e.g. US, Europe) culture. Looks like they really follow? I don't know.

Microsoft Romania has just launched a gadget competition for Windows Vista and Windows Live. Essentially, the contest is nothing more than a repeat of the Windows Vista Gadgets Competition on Code Project, with the sole exception that entries can now be submitted for both the client and the cloud Microsoft operating systems.
As far as Windows Vista is concerned, the gadgets will be designed to integrate with the Windows Sidebar. Introduced as a default feature of Vista, the Sidebar has yet to live up to its full potential, but still, it offers an insight into where Microsoft can go with the graphical user interface of the Windows platform.
"Gadgets are easy-to-use mini programs that give you information at a glance and provide easy access to frequently used tools. Windows Sidebar helps you to organize your gadgets. As you use your computer to access information, perform tasks, and interact with software, you may at times feel like you're facing information overload. You have to open a web browser just to check the weather, open an application to view your calendar, and open a calculator program just to add up a few numbers. Now, with Windows Sidebar and its associated mini-applications called gadgets, the specific information you need is at your fingertips," Microsoft explained.
The winner of the 2007 Gadget Competition will take home a LCD Sony Bravia TV, but the prizes will not stop here. Microsoft is also offering an Xbox 360 for the runner-up, and an HTC Touch phone with Windows Mobile 6.0 for the third place. Prizes even include a copy of Windows Vista and of Flight Simulator. September 10 is the first day of the contest, and all entries have to be submitted by 31 October. Users will have to download and use the gadgets, and they will also be able to vote for their favorite items. Microsoft will rely on the users' votes in choosing the winner. Head over at Gadget Competition 2007 for additional details.
