Upgrade Your hardware for Windows VistaJanuaru 30 , 2007 Microsoft Windows Vista Released.Volume license customers will be able to purchase Vista beginning November 30, 2006.The windows Vista released date is not confirmed to peoples.I write the Vista release date by some site reference .
According to a report by Windows IT Pro, the official date for a full Vista release will be 7 December 2006, with the second beta of the product being released to testers late 2007 .
"Beta 2 of Windows Vista, Microsoft's future operating system, is slated for release in the first week of December 2005 at best," a posting dated 29 August said. "The final release has been pushed back until September or October 2006."
A team manager for Windows for 5 years has decided to write a blog-essay about what caused Windows Vista project to miss the due date. Philip tells us in the blog, that Windows developers are writing an average of 5000 lines of code (which is "only" 1200 lines less than the national average of 6200 lines of code per year). He addresses issues like the Vista code being too complicated, the processes the developers have to follow too complex and a lot more. All in all it gives a nice insight into why Vista will be late, from a different perspective. Oh, and Slashdot gets mentioned too ;-)."
PCs configuration For Windows VistaYou moght be ready to move to windows Vista , but is your PC? Microsfot's new operating system , due to appear on store shelves over the coming weeks , will make some thfty demands on computer hardware.
Conservative estimates from research group softchoice and others suggest that at least 5o percent of PCs currently in use do not meet vista's minimum system requirements. That figure jumps to over 90 90 percent among PCs used in corporations.
The big question facing consumers who want to adopt Vista sooner rather than later is whether it makes more than to buy a completely new PC or whether individual component upgrades will suffice.
It's a though call , condidering that upgrading just two or three key parts of your PC- such as the video card and your hard drive -can cost about a quarter of the price of a new machine .
At a minimum , says Microsoft, your PC should have at least an 800 MHz processor, 512 megabytes (MB) of system memory (RAM) , and a graphics card with 128 MB of RAM .It's imporatant to note that these specifications are indeed for a minimum configuration, one which will not allow you to take advantage of all of Vista;s performance enhancements.
The preferred configuration would include at least 1 GHz processor and 1 gigabytes (GB) of system memory. some computer makers, though , including Dell , are wisely recomending that the amount of RAM for Vista be doubled - to 2 GB.
Before you can decide whether or how to upgrade your PC, you have to know what's in it.
If you've managed to keep the original bill of sale or hardware specification sheet for your PC, you're in luck. You'll know exactly what you have lurking in your computer by scanning the document .
If you no idia of what's in your computer , never fear. There are several web sites available that can scan your computer for free and present you with a list of its major components.
The best is PC pistop, which has an easy-to-use Vista Readiness scanner(
http://pcpitstop.com/vistaready/default.asp) that will compare the contents of your PC against the hardware recomended by Microsoft.
Log on to PC Pistop's page , and click Take The Test. You may be asked to allow PC Pistop to install a cookie onto your PC to fsciliate the test.If you're worried about the nature of the cookie, you can find a full description of any cookie that PC Pistop uses the PC Pistop cookies page (

Types And History Of Mouse
A mouse was invented by
Dougles Engelbart of
stanford Reaserch centre in 1963, and poineered by Xerox in the 1970s.
A mouse is an input device that is important for graphical user interfaces because you can sipmly point to options and click a mouse button. These types of application are often called point-and-click programs. The mouse is also important for graphic programs that allow you to draw pictures by using the mouse like a pen, pencil, or paintbrush.
A mouse may have one, two or three buttons. The function of each is determined by the program that uses the mouse. A software package may use one, two or al three if them .In its simplest form, a mouse has one button. Moving the mouse on a flat surface produces corresponding movement of a pointer on the screen. Placing the pointer on an option and clicking the button in selecting that option.
Mouse
A mouse may be calassified as a mechanical mouse or an optical nmouse, on the basis of the technology it uses. In a mechanical mouse, the ball that projects through the bottom surface rotates as the mouse is moved along a flat surface. The direction of rotation is detected and relayed to the computer by the switches inside the mouse. Microsoft, IBM and Logitech are some well-known makers of the mechnical mouse.
An optical mouse uses a light beam instead of a rotating ball to detect movement across a specially patterned mouse pad. MSC corporation makes the optical mouse that uses LEDs and photo-detectors to trap movement.
Categories of mouse:
Trackball Mouse: In a Trackball ouse, the ball is rolled at one place with the thumb, fingers and palms rather than rolling the mouse on the table top.

2.
Joystick Mouse: A joystick usualy includes two upright sticks which are mocied with the hand and a button is pressed on either stick . Joystick mouse is basically used by childern, recreational users, and other users who prefer the joystick over the mouse or trackball.

3. Light Pen: A light pen utilizes a light-sensitive detector, requring you to hlod a pen and point it at the sceen.

4.
Wireless Mouse: The wireless mouse is a mouse without a cable . This mouse works up to one and a half metres away from the computer.

5.
Touch Pad Mouse: A tiuchpad is a small. flat, rectangu;ar pointing device that is sensitiveto pressure and motion. These devices mostly used on portable computer.

Random Access Memory (RAM)
RAMThis is the memory that the computer uses for storing the programs and their data while working on them So, if you are drafting a letter using a word processor,sayMS-Word, you are working with a document loaded into the RAM. Tostore your letter for later use, it has to be saved on the hard disk. Later, you can retrieve it from the disk and continue working on the document. Thus, RAM function as a scrtch pad for the computer and is sometimes called the scratch pad memory.
RAM has the following characteristics:- Data within the RAM cn be read or modified, i,e. you can either read from theRAMor write onto it. Hence it is called read/write memory.
- The contents of the RAM are lost when the computer is switched off. Hence, the RAM is said to be volatile.
The capacity of RAM depends on the number of memory chips installed, which in turn depends on the capacity the microprocessor can handle. The RAM size is an important parameter in determining the sizeand complexity of problems that a computeter can handle. When people refer to the amount of memory that a computer has, they are talking about the amount of RAM available.
Types of RAM
There are various types of RAM that are currently avilable for use. You can select any of them according your requirements:
(1) Double Data Rate:

The Double Rate (DDR) is the current standard for RAM and it offers more bandwidth than the older standard, such as SDRAM. DDR is only available on more modern motherbords right now. You should check your motherboard's compatibility with DDR prior to purchasing it.
(2) RDRAM:

Rambus Dynamic RAM (RDRAM) is avaible only with certain Pentium IV systms at this time, or some Pentium III systems. RDRAM is not used with the AMD Duron or the AMD AthlonXP processors. Using RDRAM and DDR memory, you can get high speed and performance, but these are more expensive.
(3) SDRAM:

They Synchronous Dynamic RAM (SDRAM) synchronizes memory access with the CPU colck for faster data transfer.
(4) DRAM:

The Dynamic RAM (DRAM) has been replaced by SDRAM and it does not see much active use.

PLOTTERS

Very often it might be requirred to create high-quality visuals on paper, which cannot be obtained using a printer. For this purpose, a plotter is used. A plotter is an output device that is used to creat presentatiion visuals, charts, graphs, tables and diagrams.
A plotter consists of an arm that moves across the paper on which the diagram or graph needs to be drawn . Apen moves along the arm. and the arm itself moves relative to the paper. Acombination of the two thus provides movement along the horizontal and vertical axes.
In some plotters, the paper is held station ary while the arm and the pens move over it. This is called a flat-bed plotter. In the other type of plotter, the paper is wrapped around a drum and anchored at anchored at both ends. The drum rotates while the pen moves laterally along a fixed rail. This is called a drum plotter.
To draw clear and high-qualit diagrams, a plotter needs high-quality pens with special inks of different colors.
A plotter can be connected to a PC through the parallel port. A plotter is more software-dependent than any other peripheral, and needs much more instructions than printer for producing output.
Plotter are used in applications like CAD, which requir high-quality graphics on paper. Many of the plotters now available in the market are desktop models that can be used with PCs. Businesses typically use plotters to present an alysis in terms (bar charts, graphs, diagrams, etc.) as well as for engineering drawings.

Magneto-Optical Disk
Magneto-Optical Disk SystemThe first removable 3.5 inch Magneto Optical (MO) disk drive was introduced by Fujitsu in 1992. The capacity of this MO disk was 128 MB. Today a MO disk can use store 2.3 GB data. The MO drive has become so popular because of its ease of use. You can use it for rewritng for any number of times. It is a reliable media for a long-term data storage extending to over 30 years. The MO disks can resist dust, magnetic fields. Ultra Violet rays and X-raya. The MO drives are used for transferring large volumes of data, as well as storing and archiving files in industres, such as publishing , stelecommunications, medical, and banking.

Microprocessor
The entire design of the PC is based on the microprocessor chip. The microprocessor can in data, perform a

rithmetic operation like addition, subtraction , division or are the data and the send out the result. It also performs comparison operation on data to check if they are equal, or if one is greater than the other. It also has the ability to perform logical operation on data. The microprocessor controls the activities of the various components of the computer and also responds to requests from the prepheral devices; for example, printer signals indicating that it as run out of paper.
The microprocessor consists of the Arithmetic-Logic init (ALU), The Control Unit and some special purpose storage areas called Registers. Using ALU, a microprocessor can perform mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Modern microprocessor contain floting point processors that can perform any complicated operations on large floting point number. During its ALU operations, the microprocessor holds its intermediate results in special purpose registers. These registers are storage areas, which are physically a part of the microprocessor chip. These are not accessible to the programmer, Other functions, a microprocessor can perform are:
It can move data from one location to another.
It can make decision and jump to a new set of instruction based on those decisions.
There are many types of microprocessor available in the market that are manufactured by different companies like intel.Advanced Micro Divices, Motorola, etc. The most widely-used are the range of Intel microprocessors in the family of the Intel processors are the Intel 8004, 8086, 8085, 8086, 8088, 80286, 80386, 80486 and the Pentium IV is most powerful microprocessor from Intel.
The capacity of a microprocessor is mesured in terms of the number of bits it can send or recive and the number of bits it can process intrnally. The 8088 is an 8/16 bit processor, indicatingthat it can send or receive 8 bits of data and internally process 16 bits of data at a time. The 80286 ts a 16/16 bit processor. Thus,it is a true 16 bit processor and is faster than the Intel 8088 chip. Also, the 80286 can work in two different modes; the real and the protected. When working in the real mode, the 80286 works just like the 8088. In the procted mode, the 80286 makes avilable many facilities that are not available on the 8088.For example, it provides features that allow more than one program or executed simultaneously. The protection feature prevents one program from tampering with any part of the memory that does not belong to it .
The 80386 chip has a 32-bit processing with a 32-bit data path and, as a result, is much faster than either the 8088 or the 80286 chip. Like the 80286, it can also work in protected mode.
The 80486 chip was introduced by intel in late 1989 and for the next for years, enjoyed the distinction of being the best performing midroprocessor in the Intel family. The Intel 80486, is a 32-bit processor. It has architectural enhancements, which make it perform better than the 80386 chip.
The Pentium is a 32-bit processor with a 32-bit data path, and was introduced in 1993. It is three times faster than the 80486.
The Pentium is a 32-bit processor with a 64-bit data path, and was introduced in 1997. It is three times faster than the Pentium.
The Pentium is a 32-bit processor with a 64-bit data path, and was introduced in 1999. It is two times faster than the Pentium.
The Pentium V is a 32-bit processor with a 64-bit data path, and was introduced in 2000. It is three times faster than the Pentium and is considered the best the Intel family.
